| Point Lobos State Reserve is everything that a reserve should be. Unique geological formations, rare plants, rich sea life, and an abundance of fauna make Point Lobos State Reserve a paradise for people who want to indulge their hobbies of painting, photography, nature study, walking, jogging, scuba diving, or just admiring nature at its best. The entrance to Point Lobos State Reserve is three miles south of Carmel on Highway One. The reserve offers guided walks of the area and of the museums on the reserve. Advance reservations are required for group tours. Scuba diving at Point Lobos State Reserve is allowed in two areas, but does require permission, which can be obtained at the entrance to Point Lobos State Reserve. A reservation is recommended for scuba diving, particularly on weekends and holidays. The weather at Point Lobos State Reserve is generally characterized by warm sunny days, dry summers with occasional fog from July to September, and occasional winter rains. |
